Welcome to Pine Coast Cleaners (“Pine Coast Cleaners,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Legal Notice & Service Terms apply to carpet, upholstery, rug, and related cleaning services provided by Pine Coast Cleaners to residential and commercial customers.
By scheduling, authorizing, or accepting our services, you acknowledge that you have had an opportunity to review these terms and agree that they govern the services provided, except to the extent a separate written agreement signed by both parties provides otherwise.
Pine Coast Cleaners provides professional carpet, upholstery, rug, and related cleaning services. Cleaning results can vary depending on the age, condition, construction, material, dyes, previous treatments, wear, staining, contamination, and other characteristics of the item being cleaned.
Cleaning is intended to improve the appearance and cleanliness of an item. We do not guarantee complete removal of every stain, odor, discoloration, or imperfection.
Some stains or conditions may be permanent or may only be partially improved.
Before beginning work, customers should inform Pine Coast Cleaners of any known:
Existing damage, tears, holes, loose seams, fraying, delamination, discoloration, fading, or deterioration;
Previous cleaning, chemical treatments, stain-protection treatments, dyeing, repairs, or restoration;
Water, mold, mildew, pet, smoke, or other contamination;
Structural or manufacturing defects;
Areas that are already weakened, brittle, unstable, or otherwise susceptible to damage; and
Special manufacturer or care instructions.
Pine Coast Cleaners is not responsible for damage, discoloration, bleeding, shrinkage, browning, texture changes, color changes, odor changes, unraveling, seam separation, delamination, or other conditions that result from a pre-existing condition, inherent characteristic, manufacturing defect, prior treatment, improper installation, age, normal wear and tear, or deterioration that was not caused by our negligence.
Certain fabrics, fibers, dyes, backing materials, adhesives, and finishes may react unpredictably to moisture or cleaning solutions.
Where appropriate, Pine Coast Cleaners may perform testing before cleaning. However, testing cannot always identify every possible reaction.
Customers understand that cleaning may cause or reveal conditions such as color bleeding, dye migration, fading, browning, texture changes, shrinkage, or other changes in appearance.
We will use reasonable professional care in selecting cleaning methods and products based on the information reasonably available to us.
Before our arrival, customers should remove fragile, valuable, breakable, or irreplaceable items from the work area whenever reasonably possible.
Customers are responsible for notifying us of:
Fragile or valuable furnishings;
Items that should not be moved;
Known defects or damage;
Special care instructions;
Recently installed or repaired carpeting or upholstery;
Areas with water damage, mold, mildew, or other hazardous conditions; and
Any other condition that could reasonably affect the cleaning process.
If furniture must be moved, Pine Coast Cleaners will determine, in its reasonable discretion, which items can safely be moved.
We reserve the right to decline to move items that are excessively heavy, unstable, fragile, valuable, antique, damaged, or otherwise unsafe to move.
Pine Coast Cleaners is not responsible for damage to furniture, fixtures, flooring, personal property, or other items that occurs because of a pre-existing defect, structural weakness, improper construction, improper installation, deterioration, or a condition that could not reasonably have been identified before work began.
Customers should identify valuable, antique, heirloom, delicate, or specialty items before service begins.
Unless expressly agreed to in writing, Pine Coast Cleaners does not provide restoration, conservation, repair, or specialty treatment of antiques, museum-quality items, or irreplaceable property.
Pine Coast Cleaners does not guarantee the complete removal of stains or odors.
Some stains and odors may be permanent because of chemical changes, age, repeated contamination, pet urine, smoke, dyes, rust, bleach, previous cleaning attempts, or other factors.
Certain odors may originate below the visible surface or within padding, backing, subflooring, furniture components, or other materials that ordinary cleaning cannot completely address.
Customers understand that cleaned carpet and upholstery may require additional drying time depending on humidity, ventilation, temperature, material, construction, and cleaning method.
Customers should provide reasonable ventilation and follow any drying or post-cleaning instructions provided by Pine Coast Cleaners.
Customers should avoid unnecessary traffic or use of cleaned items until they are sufficiently dry.
Pine Coast Cleaners requires reasonable access to the areas and items scheduled for cleaning.
We may refuse or postpone service if conditions are unsafe, unsanitary, inaccessible, or materially different from the conditions represented when the appointment was scheduled.
This may include, without limitation, hazardous materials, excessive clutter, unsafe electrical conditions, significant water intrusion, active mold or sewage contamination, aggressive animals, or other conditions that could reasonably endanger personnel or property.
Ordinary carpet and upholstery cleaning is not a substitute for water-damage restoration, mold remediation, sewage remediation, hazardous-material remediation, or structural repair.
Where specialized remediation appears necessary, Pine Coast Cleaners may recommend that the customer contact an appropriately qualified specialist.
Pine Coast Cleaners does not assume responsibility for pre-existing contamination or damage outside the scope of the services specifically agreed upon.
Customers are encouraged to inspect the serviced areas after completion.
If you believe that our services caused damage or that there is a problem with the services provided, please notify Pine Coast Cleaners as soon as reasonably possible and provide photographs and a description of the concern.
Customers should not attempt additional cleaning, apply chemicals, remove carpeting, alter upholstery, or otherwise modify the affected area before Pine Coast Cleaners has had a reasonable opportunity to inspect the condition, unless immediate action is reasonably necessary to prevent further damage.
Nothing in this section limits any rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Pine Coast Cleaners' liability arising from or relating to its services will be limited to the amount actually paid by the customer for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
Pine Coast Cleaners will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages to the extent such limitation is permitted by applicable law.
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability resulting from conduct for which applicable law does not permit limitation.
Nothing in these Legal Notice & Service Terms is intended to waive, eliminate, or restrict any right or remedy that cannot legally be waived under applicable federal, state, or local law.
If any provision of these terms is determined to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the extent permitted by law.
Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, estimates are based on information available to Pine Coast Cleaners at the time the estimate is provided.
The final price may change if the scope, size, condition, accessibility, or type of work materially differs from the information originally provided.
Any material change in the scope or price of services should be communicated to the customer before the additional work is performed, when reasonably practicable.
Appointments may be subject to cancellation or rescheduling terms communicated to the customer at the time of booking.
Any applicable cancellation fees will be disclosed in accordance with applicable law and the customer's agreement with Pine Coast Cleaners.
Nothing in this provision is intended to limit a customer's statutory cancellation rights.
Payment is due according to the terms communicated at the time of booking or service.
Customers are responsible for paying the agreed charges for services performed, subject to any rights the customer may have under applicable law.
Pine Coast Cleaners may photograph areas or items being cleaned for purposes such as documenting pre-existing conditions, documenting the condition before and after service, quality control, or responding to a service complaint.
We will not use identifiable customer photographs for advertising or promotional purposes without appropriate permission.
Cleaning methods are selected based on the information reasonably available to Pine Coast Cleaners and the observable condition of the item.
Pine Coast Cleaners may decline to perform a particular cleaning procedure when, in its professional judgment, the procedure presents an unreasonable risk of damage to the item, property, personnel, or equipment.
Information appearing on the Pine Coast Cleaners website is provided for general informational purposes and does not constitute a guarantee regarding the outcome of a particular cleaning service.
Specific cleaning results depend upon the individual characteristics and condition of the item.
These terms shall be interpreted under the laws applicable to the services and transaction, including applicable Maine law where applicable, except to the extent federal law or another mandatory law governs.
Nothing in these terms is intended to deprive a consumer of rights provided by applicable law.
These Legal Notice & Service Terms, together with any written estimate, invoice, service agreement, or other written terms specifically applicable to the customer's service, constitute the agreement concerning the services provided by Pine Coast Cleaners, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
If a separate written agreement signed by both parties contains terms that conflict with these website terms, the signed agreement will control to the extent of the conflict.
